Clinical Interests
My primary work is as a clinician-educator currently involved in patient care and clinical education of students, residents, and fellow-level trainees at the University of Colorado Hospital. I held the position of Assistant Program Director of the Rheumatology Fellowship from 2012-2015, and was officially named the Program Director in July of 2015. I see patients across the spectrum of rheumatic disease, but also sub-specialize in the fields of systemic sclerosis and autoimmune ocular disease. These subspecialty interests allow for inter-disciplinary collaboration between the division of rheumatology and other specialists in pulmonology, hand surgery, vascular medicine, gastroenterology, and ophthalmology. These collaborations provide educational opportunities for faculty and trainees, academic and research opportunities, and most importantly, improved patient care.
Volunteer Activities
I work closely with the Scleroderma Foundation, providing educational presentations to patients and serving on the local Scientific Advisory Board. In addition, I serve as a volunteer on several committees through the American College of Rheumatology, primarily in the areas of education and the rheumatology workforce.
