Clinical Interests
Randall B. Meacham, MD is Professor and Chief of Urology at the University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine. He is also Director of the Urology Residency Training program. Dr. Meacham is a nationally recognized specialist in urologic microsurgery and has performed over 1,000 microsurgical procedures. His clinical practice specializes in the evaluation and management of male infertility and sexual dysfunction. As a member of the multidisciplinary Advanced Reproductive Medicine team at University of Colorado Hospital, Dr. Meacham’s clinical activities also include advanced fertility testing and surgical sperm harvesting.
After graduating Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Texas, Dr. Meacham attended Medical School at Baylor College of Medicine. Thereafter, he completed his urology residency and a fellowship in male reproductive medicine and surgery at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Meacham is an internationally recognized opinion leader in the area of male reproductive medicine and surgery. He has published numerous papers and lectures extensively on male fertility. Additionally he is Past-President of the Society of the Study of Male Reproduction – the country’s premier organization dedicated to the treatment of male fertility problems. Dr. Meacham also participates in research related to male fertility funded by the National Institutes of Health.
Dr. Meacham’s love of microsurgery and clinical practice is matched by his commitment to medical education. Holding the rank of Professor with Tenure, he currently serves as Chief of Urology and Director of Urology residency training at the University of Colorado. These responsibilities, combined with his active research program, have offered Dr. Meacham the opportunity to provide state-of-the-art care to thousands of patients while helping to advance our knowledge of male fertility and advance the careers of tomorrow’s physicians.
Personal Interests
I have a passion for outdoor activities, including running, cycling and mountaineering. I've completed marathons, triathlons and single-day bicycling events raging from 100 to 200 miles. I've also climbed 48 of Colorado's 14,000 foot peaks. I also enjoy camping, outdoor photography and snowboarding.
