Care Philosophy
My journey into medicine began with a desire to have a tangible impact on people’s lives, a goal that continues to drive my practice today. Having worked extensively in global health research and education, I have developed a deep appreciation for the diverse cultural backgrounds of my patients and the unique barriers they may face in accessing care. I believe that meaningful communication and partnership are the foundations of successful treatment. My approach is to treat every patient with the same level of compassion and specialized care I would want for my own family, whether we are managing a routine vision issue or performing a complex reconstruction of the front of the eye. I am also committed to building capacity for better vision health both here in Colorado and in underserved communities globally. As Chief of the Cornea Service, I am honored to lead a team that is not only focused on excellence today but is actively shaping the future of ophthalmology for the next generation.
