My research focuses on two related themes: 1) examining the role of trait cognitive-behavioral factors as mechanisms of risk and/or resilience for the development of youth depression and anxiety, and 2) testing evidence-based psychosocial interventions, including cognitive-behavioral and interpersonal psychotherapy approaches, to prevent youth depression and anxiety, and ultimately, adverse health outcomes, including obesity and type 2 diabetes (T2D).
