Research Interests

I am an R01-funded NIH investigator with research interests in optimized mechanical ventilation in critically ill patients. Specifically, I aim to understand how ventilatory dyssynchrony contributes to ventilator-induced lung injury while optimizing sedation and treatment strategies to minimize lung injury and avoid oversedation. This primary focus has led to broader questions on how to integrate AI and closed-loop systems to improve mechanical ventilation in our critically ill patients.
