Description |
Compass integrates patient data from the electronic medical records at UCHealth and Children's Hospital Colorado, provider billing data from CU Medicine, and -omics data from the Colorado Center for Personalized Medicine. This data is further enriched with a variety of state and public data sources. Compass use advanced algorithms to link those data to create a longitudinal record that cannot exist within any single data source. Compass makes this data available to our partners through a range of means, from self-service de-identified cohort analyses to fully identified, line-level datasets suitable for advanced analytics. |

Tableau is used to create visualizations to help understand and explore data with a drop and drag interface.Tableau is compatible with may data sources including SQL and Oracle databases as well as Excel and text files. Tableau reports can be published to the University's Tableau server for sharing and collaboration with the campus community. |
Formstack is a very flexible online form building and data collection tool that can be used to accomplish a wide variety of tasks. There are three main areas of Formstack: 1. Form Builder: Select different types of fields and menus to design your form 2. Form Settings: Configure everything from notification emails to approval workflows and form security 3. Submissions Database. View, edit, export or manipulate the data which has been submitted via your form |
Users are guided through a series of steps to create an online survey using one of several templates. Qualtrics displays survey results both graphically and statistically for analysis. |
The Center for Innovative Design & Analysis (CIDA) is CU Anschutz's central study design and analytic resource. CIDA also conducts primary research developing new biostatistical and data science methods. The diverse group of biostatisticians, data scientists, and health economists is comprised of faculty members and graduate student apprentices primarily from the Department of Biostatistics and Informatics in the Colorado School of Public Health at the CU Anschutz Medical Campus. Not sure where to begin, just submit a request for a quick consult and a team member will help you find the right design and analysis resources for your needs. |

CU Anschutz Digital Collections is the institutional repository of the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and its affiliates. CU Anschutz Digital Collections is managed by staff at the Strauss Health Sciences Library and hosted by a third party, Ubiquity Repositories. The Digital Collections collects, preserves, and provides access to digitized library collections, archives, current research, and other scholarly and creative works. |
Eureka is a cloud-based analytics platform designed and managed by Health Data Compass to rapidly provision cloud-based, HIPAA-compliant virtual machines to data scientists and developers. This service enables our partners to access high-powered computational environments to service a variety of advanced analytics needs, from statistics and visualizations to bioinformatics processing, deep learning, and more. Eureka is built on the Google Cloud Platform. |
The Anschutz Medical Campus has partnered with our sister campus in Boulder to provide high performance computing resources to researchers. Alpine is the University of Colorado Boulder Research Computing’s third-generation high performance computing (HPC) cluster. Alpine is a heterogeneous compute cluster currently composed of hardware provided from University of Colorado Boulder, Colorado State University, and Anschutz Medical Campus. Alpine currently offers 317 compute nodes and a total of 18,080 cores. CPU, GPU and High memory nodes are available in the cluster. Alpine can be securely accessed anywhere, anytime using OpenOnDemand or ssh connectivity to the CURC system. |
EndNote is a citation management software that organizes references and reference-related materials (such as PDFs of articles) in a searchable personal library. |
Health Data Compass enables access to UCHealth patient data in a fully de-identified, aggregated form, via the TriNetX website. TriNetX allows users to identify inclusion and exclusion criteria from a range of criteria collected in UCHealth's Epic medical record system, including temporal relationships. Users can then explore the resulting cohort stratified by a variety of demographic characteristics. |
The SLCE service encompasses high performant Windows 10 or Linux systems running on server hardware housed in the Fitzsimmons datacenter on the Anschutz Medical campus. The server hardware can be tailored to the researcher’s compute needs including the type of central processing unit (CPU), amount of random-access memory (RAM) and disk configuration (type, speed, redundancy, and total storage). Additionally, systems in SLCE are designed to be fault tolerant and are configured with redundant hardware including dual network cards and power supplies. |
As part of a new comprehensive data management plan, the Anschutz Medical Campus has partnered with Research Computing at the University of Colorado at Boulder to provide a new service for storing research data. This service is called the PetaLibrary - an enterprise storage offering for archiving research data that is infrequently accessed. The goal is to create efficiencies for data storage and reduce costs associated with storing large amounts of research data. This service is supported by grant funding from the National Science Foundation and has gained institutional support by over 50 researchers on the Boulder campus. Approximately 1.2PB to research data is currently archived in this service. The PetaLibrary can also be used to share large data sets with colleagues at other institutions and for transferring data that will be used for analysis on the Summit high performance cluster offered by Research Computing in Boulder. |
